The first thing you should consider is the scale of this bench. If you’re thinking of putting it at the end of your bed, you better have at least a King or Cali King and a fair sized bedroom. It’s not just the length of the piece, it’s also pretty deep. The upholstered seating itself is exactly 23 inches wide, the extra inches are the wood sidebars.

The table slides and also removes entirely which makes it a nice customizable piece. For smaller people, the perfect piece for a midcentury bench style daybed. Just add your own cylindrical bolster pillow. That’s what we use it for in front of the fireplace, and then occasionally as a dining bench if we have more guests than our usual dining chairs.

This is a decent piece of furniture. Very sturdy without being too heavy. My husband can carry it himself, I cannot. It’s not the most expensive piece as far as midcentury benches go, but it looks and feels like the better stuff from Crate and Barrel or the standard stuff from Room and Board.

The upholstery (I bought pebble) is fairly thick and sturdy, this is important particularly for foam cushioned furniture of this style since the look depends on a lack of wrinkles or sinks which foam tends to have. I am happy to report it has seen heavy use over the year as my reading daybed and has not shown significant wear, especially since I like to lie on it with a book propped open and my elbows digging into the upholstery.
